Winter Storm Warning issued March 14 at 11:04PM CDT until March 16 at 4:00PM CDT by NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
AREAS AFFECTED: Dane; Jefferson; Lafayette; Green; Rock
DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Heavy snow and some mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 7 inches and ice accumulations around a light glaze. Winds gusting as high as 50 MPH leading to blowing and drifting snow. Near blizzard conditions are possible later Sunday night into early Monday morning. * WHERE...Dane, Green, Lafayette, Rock, and Jefferson Counties. * WHEN...From 7 PM Sunday to 4 PM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages.
INSTRUCTION: Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin to reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a hat will keep you from losing your body heat. Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.

Condensation is the process which creates clouds, and therefore
it is a crucial process in the water cycle.
Condensation is the change of matter from a state of gas into a state of liquid,
and it happens because water molecules release heat into the atmosphere and
become organized into a more closely packed structure, what we might see as
water droplets.
Water is always present in the air around us as a vapor, but it's too small for
us to see. When water undergoes the process of condensation it becomes organized
into visible water droplets. You've probably seen condensation happen before on the
surface of a cold drink!

The final form taken by a growing cumulus cloud is the
cumulonimbus cloud, which is very tall and dense.
The tower of a cumulonimbus cloud can soar 23 km into the atmosphere, although
most commonly they stop growing at an altitude of 6 km.
Even small cumulonimbus clouds appear very large in comparison to other cloud types.
They can signal the approach of stormy weather, such as thunderstorms or blizzards.
