DESCRIPTION: ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM TO 11 PM PDT WEDNESDAY FOR ABUNDANT LIGHTNING ON DRY FUELS FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE 285... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING FOR ABUNDANT LIGHTNING ON DRY FUELS FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONE 285... * IMPACTS...Abundant lightning on dry fuels resulting in the potential for numerous new fire starts. * AFFECTED AREA...All of Fire weather zone 285. * TIMING...For today, 2p-11p. For Wednesday 2p-11p. For Thursday 2p-11p. * THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered thunderstorms with abundant lightning are expected today and Wednesday. Showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible earlier in the morning hours (between 0400-1100) on Wednesday, but the greatest coverage of storms is expected during the afternoon/evening hours. Another day of scattered coverage is possible on Thursday. The final form taken by a growing cumulus cloud is the
cumulonimbus cloud, which is very tall and dense.
The tower of a cumulonimbus cloud can soar 23 km into the atmosphere, although
most commonly they stop growing at an altitude of 6 km.
Even small cumulonimbus clouds appear very large in comparison to other cloud types.
They can signal the approach of stormy weather, such as thunderstorms or blizzards.

Drizzle is precipitation in the form of water droplets which are
smaller than raindrops.
Drizzle is characterized by fine, gently falling droplets and typically does not
impact human habitation in a negative way. The exception to this is freezing drizzle,
a condition where drizzle freezes immediately upon reaching earth's surface.
Freezing drizzle is still less dangerous than freezing rain, but can
potentially result in hazardous road conditions.
