AREAS AFFECTED: Goliad; Victoria; Inland Refugio
DESCRIPTION: At 634 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Oak Village, or 10 miles northwest of McFaddin, moving south at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Victoria, McFaddin, Fannin, Victoria Riverside Park, Victoria Colony Creek Country Club, Coleto Creek Park, Victoria College, Saxet Lakes, Oak Village, Victoria Detar Hospital North, Ball Airport Area, and Downtown Victoria. This includes the following highways... US Highway 183 between mile markers 654 and 660. US Highway 59 between mile markers 636 and 656. US Highway 77 between mile markers 574 and 612. US Highway 87 between mile markers 806 and 814.
INSTRUCTION: If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Altostratus clouds form at mid to high-level altitudes
(between 2 and 7 km) and are created by a warm, stable air mass which causes
water vapor
to condense as it rise through the atmosphere. Usually altostratus clouds are
featureless sheets characterized by a uniform color.
In some cases, wind punching through the cloud formation may give it a waved
appearance, called altostratus undulatus. Altostratus clouds
are commonly seen with other cloud formations accompanying them.

Cirrostratus clouds are high, thin clouds that form above
