AREAS AFFECTED: Brooks; Northern Hidalgo
DESCRIPTION: At 336 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Encino to near El Coyote Ranch Airport to near La Reforma. Movement was south at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Torrential rains along US 281 will reduce visibility to near zero as the storms move through from Encino to near Linn and San Manuel. Locations impacted include... Encino, Rachal, El Coyote Ranch Airport, and Puerto Rico.
INSTRUCTION: If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Fog is technically a type of stratus cloud, which lies along the
ground and obscures visibility.
It is usually created when humidity in the air condenses into tiny water droplets.
Because of this, some places are more prone to foggy weather, such as regions
close to a body of water.
Fog is similar to mist; both are the appearance of water droplets suspended in
the air, but fog is the term applied to the condition when visibility is less than 1 km.
